A short clip of a Volvo C60 automatic braking demonstration in which the car fails to stop. It was widely circulated as a press-demo embarrassment.
Cited as a cautionary example whenever collision-avoidance or self-driving safety systems come up.

It will take only a few of these: [VIDEO] (volvo crash avoidance failure) to shake people's confidence in these systems.
Does anybody else remember this demostration of a Volvo featuring a similar characteristic and utterly failing? [VIDEO] These technologies need to gain the trust of the drivers before they can become mainstream.
Especially because a Volvo plowed into a pedestrian almost a year ago: [LINK] IIRC it was discovered this happened because the owner hadn't purchased the "Pedestrian Avoidance Package". And shortly before that, a Volvo plowed into a parked truck (in a demo): [VIDEO] This was "was the result of an earlier flat battery that temporarily disabled the system due to low voltage" [0] The pattern here is not only due to the collision systems themselves, but to the system around the collision avoidance system.
