Tech Ingredients demonstrates how microwaves work and how they affect objects at range, then shows ways to defend against them. It includes a correction about rectifier output frequency.
HN commenters recommend it as a practical explanation of microwave hazards and shielding, and of using microwave ovens safely without an enclosure.

If your device is hacked at the firmware level, it can be turned into a microwave weapon and used against you. (My hypothesis of the cause of Havana Syndrome: hacked cell transmitters beaming microwave at targets.) Tech Ingredients (YouTube creator) made an instructional video about how microwaves work and how to defend against them: " [VIDEO] ".
At the power levels we're talking about (5W)? Of course I would. The effects are well known: It heats your hands up at 5 joules per second. Incidentally, Tech Ingredients has a great video on using microwave ovens without an enclosure and how to block similar directed energy weapons that use a lot more than 5W: [VIDEO]
Probably also worth watching a related video from the same channel: "Defeating Microwave Weapons! - Part 1" [VIDEO]
