Defense analyst H I Sutton argues that a new type of Chinese landing barge can only be explained by planning for an amphibious assault, in particular on Taiwan.
HN points to it as the best source on why these barges are designed for invasion and how they overcome limited landing beaches.

The Defence Analyst who wrote this article has posted a YouTube video where they outline why they are specifically designed for invasion. [VIDEO]
This ship might not be for peacefully exporting electric cars. China is making unmistakable preparations to invade Taiwan in the near future and RORO carrier vessels have clear military applications in such a scenario. Consider this analysis of the invasion barges they’re preparing: [VIDEO]
H I Sutton's recent video on China's new invasion barges was very interesting so not really HN material, but there he talked about how all of Chinas ferries are designed to also move tanks if they have to - [VIDEO] You go to South Korea or Taiwan and all their subways are also bomb shelters, but something like The Boring Company, environmentally amazing, strategically amazing and everyone thinks it's funny to put it down. There's a massive problem with attitude and IQ in the internet population.
> There’s only a couple of beaches suitable to land an army on China's been building some new vessels designed to mitigate this (sorry for linking to a video but it's the best source I've seen for this): [VIDEO]
