Jerobeam Fenderson shows how to draw a mushroom on an oscilloscope in XY mode using stereo audio, then animates it by modulating with a larger wave. Pd and Max4Live patches are provided.
HN finds it mesmerizing and uses it to build intuition for waveforms and oscilloscope XY drawing.

Very cool! Reminds me of Jerobeam Fenderson using the XY mode in ossiloscopes to draw images with stereo sounds: [VIDEO]
I find this video quite mesmerizing: [VIDEO] Essentially it draws an object on an oscilloscope by splitting the audio channel into x y coordinates.
What you've written is extremely interesting. Not sure how much of it I truly understand, but I wanted to add that your explanation for everything as a wave function reminded me of oscilloscope music, ie. depicting images with waveforms. A tutorial I watched demonstrates the drawing of a mushroom, then animates it by modulating with a larger wave. In my laymen's head model, Spacetime is like a very large wave that everything else is being modulated by. Here's the relevant video: [VIDEO]
I like this guy. I thought this was going to be a more introductory video: [VIDEO] (holy c *, he published a lot of these since 2014, they're pretty good :) ) This has been done with quake: [LINK]
Anyone have a some tips on wanting to build intuition on wave-forms, electronics, and having fun with an oscilloscope? This was amazing to me: How To Draw Mushrooms On An Oscilloscope With Sound [VIDEO]
