Tom LaGatta's talk on category theory at a 2014 LispNYC meetup, covering objects, morphisms and the basic ideas in an informal, conversational style. It runs about 97 minutes.

Recommended as a more approachable introduction to category theory than the more formal lecture series people often start with.

I couldn't really tell you anything about category theory. But I am beginning to grasp monads. (At least in the context of Haskell programs.) I think the important thing is to see how they work, see what they do. btw, you might try this video: [VIDEO]

Category theory by Tom LaGatta[1] is also a nice introduction. He suggests taking a look at the nLab website[2], a wiki of Maths and Physics from the categorical point of view. [1] [VIDEO] [2] [LINK]

Tom LaGatta in this video on Category Theory listed this website as number one resource on category theory. [VIDEO] There he also lists some books on category theory. I am putting a direct link when he mentions the references.

nLab has been one of the best sources I've come across. My aim is to express and work with philosophical logic in a more formal way, and nLab is a great source for that as well. Milewski's YouTube lectures gets mentioned a lot, but I couldn't make much sense of them before watching Tom LaGatta's more informal and conversational presentation [VIDEO] Good luck and keep at it.
