Kung Fury is a 30-minute crowd-funded 80s action comedy about a kung fu cop who travels back in time to kill Hitler, packed with retro tropes.

Cited as a parody that crams in 80s movie tropes and as an example of the VHS aesthetic.

> Of course you can download it from Youtube using something like youtube-dl, but it's not as straightforward. You can get the 1080p version with "youtube-dl --write-sub [VIDEO] . Yes, you want the subs for the funny music descriptions.

I used this method: youtube-dl -f 248+251 [VIDEO] You get VP9+Opus combination which takes less space.

>"Indeed - this is especially true of synthwave/vaporwave and other genres that are themselves nostalgic for the days of synth-heavy music sold on cassette." Yeah, I wouldn't mind a TRONICBOX cassette: [LINK] >"Just as some games put fake film grain on screen, some synthwave videos add a "badly tracked VHS" effect." Kung Fury is probably a good example of that style: [VIDEO]

Fits right into Kung Fury [1] - a parody/homage of 80's movies that includes time travel and Hackerman... And a dinosaur, vikings and nazis and David Hasselhoff. It's as bad as it sounds, but in a good way. They fit an impressive amount of 80's movie tropes into 30 minutes. [VIDEO]

True. I used “consciousness” haphazardly. Not super related, but AGI enthusiasts sometimes remind me of this: [VIDEO]

I agree, and I think that's a big part of why so many people got excited for the Cybertruck, as an attack on aesthetic blandness. 80s-era movie and TV vehicles were a helluva lot of fun too: A-Team van, Ninja Turtles party wagon, K.I.T.T., Magnum P.I.'s Ferrari 308. And since you mentioned the Countach: [VIDEO]
