Kenneth Finnegan shows how USB-C Power Delivery trigger boards like the ZY12PDN negotiate 5V to 20V so you can power projects from a USB-C charger, including the color coding for each voltage.
Recommended as a practical way to get 12V or other voltages from USB-C for hobby projects.

I'm using ZY12PDN USB-C PD boards ( [VIDEO] ) About point 2, IMHO, better a jumper to disable programming mode than having to obstruct the sensor.
[VIDEO] I found this video just today about USB PD "trigger boards" or "decoy modules" in the ali express/ebay/amazon searches. There seem to be some you can short a resistor on for a locked setting, or others like in the video that have a mode select.
These little boards are ultra handy: [VIDEO] Rip the barrel plug off of things and replace it with USB-C input, or make your own USB-C 'dongle' to power anything that needs 12v.
