Kind of hard to say this, but unless some miraculous slowdown happens, it's coming for the entire human experience by the look of it. As Max Tegmark put it recently, we're basically Neanderthals building homo sapiens. I don't care what people think about Lex as an interviewer, it's worth a watch just to be more prepared for where things are likely headed: [VIDEO]
dudes. if none of you see it, it's because you're turning a blind eye, is the best way I can say it. the future of the 50's is about to show up, if, and only if, we're not so dumb as to ignore it. flying cars, killer robots, we can help decide, if we're only aware enough to do a bit of research, and say anything. your voice does matter :D watch this: [VIDEO] then, think, and then, think again, and then comment be optimistic, but be forewarned, and speak your voice
Indeed. It's probably what I would do if I were him. Or direct OpenAI entirely into AI safety research and stop doing capabilities research. I watched his interview with Lex Fridman,[1] and I didn't think he seemed very sincere. On the other hand I think there are a lot of people who are very sincere, like Max Tegmark.[2] [1] [LINK] [2] [VIDEO]
