Geologist Nick Zentner of Central Washington University gives an hour-long public lecture on the great earthquakes of the Pacific Northwest, including the Cascadia subduction zone and the evidence for past megaquakes. It is part of his Downtown Geology Lecture Series, recorded in Ellensburg in 2016.
HN commenters offer it as a dry but fascinating, hype-free introduction to Cascadia earthquake risk and the evidence for past events.

You should look into the supporting data before making comments like this. The evidence for the timeline of past Cascadia zone megaquakes is actually quite solid. We can even corroborate the records from North American samples with samples from Japan when the resulting tsunamis caused damage there. This is a good introduction if you want to know more: [VIDEO]
Here is an excellent lecture on the subject from CWU professor Nick Zenter. If you watch this there is a good chance you'll decide to watch all of his lecture on the channel. Very enthralling. [VIDEO]
Bizarre...I just watched this video this evening. "Great Earthquakes of the Pacific Northwest" [VIDEO]
I'm a big fan already. I actually found him from his Cascadia Earthquake video: [VIDEO] (on the University channel) I highly suggest others check him out too if you're into this stuff.
Here in seattle, volcanoes feel like an afterthought attached to the thing that's actually scary, which is the Cascadia Subduction Zone[1]. There's an hour long presentation from CWU [2] that's dry but fascinating, and pretty free of popsci FUD. When the CSZ eventually goes, it's gonna be truly catastrophic. [1] [LINK] [2] [VIDEO]
If you have 70 minutes of free time on the weekend and want to see one of the greatest geology communicators at their best, Nick Zentner did a lecture at the CWU on Pacific Northwest earthquakes that goes into decent depth about this past quake and tsunami: [VIDEO] It's better than most TV if you've got the time.
