Guardian News clip of Elon Musk announcing the 'Tesla Bot' at AI Day 2021, with a person dancing in a bodysuit on stage in place of a prototype.
HN invokes it as a joke about Tesla's overpromised robotics and AI claims.

In case the sarcasm above isn't clear, see the video of the 2021 reveal (a human in a catsuit): [VIDEO] And the 2022 re-reveal (in which humans have to push it onto the stage): [LINK]
Silicon Valley is a comedy, and that was a joke, obviously. But you can't deny there's a striking resemblance between Ariel & Fiona, and Ben & Sophia! That's why Silicon Valley was such a great show: they did their research. The entire final storyline is about an AI trying to take over -- if you haven't watched it, you should! But many of my friends who live and work in Silicon Valley can't stand watching it, because it strikes too close to home, not because it isn't funny. I think it's much more likely that Elon Musk fucked a robot, after having mistaken it for a human being in a robot suit. [VIDEO]
> upcoming robotaxis? They are currently hiring man in spandex. Edit: My bad, they will not hire, they will reuse this one: [VIDEO]
> Long FSD delays are no secret, but can we at least get the historical timeline correct? On one hand I'm tempted to say: "yes of course". On the other hand I feel like saying: even a slight amount of accuracy would be very out of place for claims involving Tesla, wouldn't it? [VIDEO]
It's plausible, in 2026, we are going to send to Mars fully autonomous humanoid robots, so AGI is right around the corner. [VIDEO]
I've seen Tesla's fake robots too. Maybe they can pay people who lost their jobs to DOGE to dress up in Spandex and dance like robots to replace the batteries. [VIDEO]
