The 'Stop trying to make fetch happen' scene clip from the film Mean Girls.
HN uses it purely as a joke reference when something is being forced or a pun on 'fetch' fits.

I dunno. The constant barrage of: "BlockChains, but for Cancer!" just seems ... derivative now. Like the 'Uber, but for dogs' was this time last year. Everyone knows these hacker-coins are a scam, the last one with them looses their shirt. Yeah, the ideas are kinda cool, but, nah man. Like, from Mean Girls : "Gretchen, stop trying to make 'Fetch' happen, it's not gonna happen" [VIDEO]
"a8c" is Automattic (makers of Wordpress) for anyone who was confused. Obligatory "Mean Girls" ;) [VIDEO]
But the entire premise of the scene [VIDEO] is that the act of telling someone to "stop trying to make fetch happen" is toxic and mean-spirited, and if someone actually does want to make "fetch" happen, they should be encouraged to do so. And if your "fetch" is the normalization of Mean Girls as a valid lede for didactic technical discourse, then you go Glen Coco.
