A C-SPAN clip from a joint press conference with Olaf Scholz in which President Biden says that if Russia invades Ukraine, there will no longer be a Nord Stream 2. Pressed on how, he promises it can be done.

Repeatedly cited in Nord Stream sabotage threads as evidence of stated US intent toward the pipeline.

Germany is just the b*tch of the USA though, that becomes very clear in this press conference. Germany has nothing to say over Nordstream: [VIDEO]

Biden won't allow Nord Stream 2 to be opened up though, and it seems he has more control over the pipeline than (the prime minister of) Germany: [VIDEO]

Biden himself told they would do it, and "promised they have ways to do it" (from ca 1:20): [VIDEO]

Your president gave a hint roughly 7 months ago. > “there will no longer be a Nord Stream 2"[1] > “We will bring an end to it.”[1] > “I promise you: We will be able to do it."[1] [1] [VIDEO]

Russia could have just turned off the tap. The sabotage ensures Europe can't back off from the US sanctions now. Wrecks Germany's economy, thereby eliminating a rival. VW et al are already talking about moving production to the US. And Biden promised to take care of NS 2 back in February itself. [VIDEO]

Here's a CSPAN video from 8 months ago of Biden telling a reporter that if Russia invades Ukraine the US will "put and end to" the nord stream pipeline. [VIDEO]

I have felt that it was definitely the US... I mean President Biden literally said on Feb 7, 2022 that "We will bring an end to it [Nord Stream 2] if Russia invades Ukraine" - [VIDEO] It seems wild to me that this isn't brought up more. Russia could totally have done it, but I mean blowing up a pipeline that took a long fucking time to build, at your cost, seems pretty irrational unless to just be a show of force against the EU.

I wonder what Biden was referring to when he stated > "If Russia invades, that means tanks or troops crossing the border of Ukraine again, then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it." > When asked how, the president says, "I promise you, we will be able do that." (C-SPAN: [VIDEO] )

Can someone more in tune with global politics explain to me why it hasn't just been assumed that the us did it? We had the motive. We had the means. oh yea, and our president said we would do it in advance of it happening: "If Russia invades, that means tanks or troops crossing the border of Ukraine again, then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it." (reporter: "How will you do that, exactly, since the project is within germany's control?") "I promise you we'll be able to do it. (smirks, silence)" [VIDEO] With that context why wouldn't the default be to assume it was destroyed by the US unless there was compelling evidence otherwise?

@DeLeeuw2023 · in “Blowing Holes in Seymour Hersh's Pipe Dream”

The US was always opposed to Nord Stream and for good reasons. I'm in fact glad it's gone. Many people already speculated it was the US, because Biden himself literally says "we will bring an end to it": [VIDEO] With a smirk. Even when pressed how he is going to do it. For me, Hersh' story is the secondary corroboration.

@wsc9812023 · in “Debunking Seymour Hersh's Alta-Class Claims”

I admit I haven't read the article, but there's not a single doubt in my mind that the US is responsible. The US has made many warnings regarding Nordstream 2 in the past. Maybe details of Hersh's story are incorrect, but I think it must be very clear who the culprit is in the end, the US. It's very clear the US has wanted Europe to be dependant on the US for energy and this has been the case for a long time (see the video of Condoleeza Rice from 2014). I the video with Schulz, Biden very clearly states "we will put an end to it". And Schulz is like a lapdog. Victoria Nuland herself is in a big way responsible for the whole situation escalating between Ukraine & Russia as can be seen in this leaked transcript: [LINK] --- Condoleeza Rice [2014]: [LINK] Biden & Schulz [2022]: [VIDEO] Victoria Nuland [2022]: [LINK] US warns German port of crushing sanctions [2020]: [LINK]

Oh man you just need to look at Bidens face when he spills the beans: Biden: "We will bring an end to nord stream 2" Reporter: "Just how will you do that? The Project is within Germany's control" Biden: *eyes twinkle* "I promise you, we will be able to do it" That twinkle in his eye. Man. You don't need a leak or a Pulitzer prize winning investigative reporter to blow the lid on it... That scene reveals all. Source: [VIDEO]

>Oh, and Nord stream 2 was not the US. At least there's no credible proof or semblance of one. You have to be really lying to yourself to believe that. Look at the twinkle in bidens eye when he says it: [VIDEO] This coupled with: [LINK] It's unmistakable. The US did it and everybody in Germany and Europe knows it. The US was meanwhile over-concerned with their first major F-35 kill ever: Balloon gate. > European countries did much better than china regarding covid. US did protlly because of many internal issues which seem to be unadressable. The US did poorly because of lack of centralized control and abundance of karens and the male counterpart. China had the superior response in terms of infrastructure adaption.

Don’t need any sources on this, as several US state officials, even Biden, stated they would do this if the US invaded Ukraine. Biden even stated this in a press conference with Olaf Schulz standing next beside him [0], but again there were more US officials making similar statements. You can wait for “official” proof, while I am sure US officials weren’t making practical jokes. ——— [0]: [VIDEO]

I highly doubt the Ukrainians were capable of such an act, especially at that time. What about Biden explicitly stating that the US will destroy the pipeline ? [VIDEO]

> I find it refreshing, however, that the "we are the evil empire now" idea is getting out of the closet. Call a spade a spade. “Good” and “evil” are moral constructs that haven’t played a meaningful role in documented geopolitics since at least the 4th century BC. There’s a well-known quote often attributed to Hastings Ismay that captures NATO’s original purpose. I won’t paste it here as it might come off as a bit harsh, and I’m not trying to drag this discussion out further. > That's a fantasy, unless you think Germany is occupied by the USA. But that's not the case. Circling back to Germany—I honestly can't think of a more humiliating moment for any NATO member than this[^1]. Sure, Mr. Biden was more aesthetically pleasing than Mr. Trump but take a moment to consider the symbolism and the signals sent to ally nations. Regardless of media narratives, the events of September 26, 2022, marked a turning point that fundamentally altered Germany’s economic path and future. It was a hostile act on a massive scale, and its consequences are undeniably real for the country. [^1]: [VIDEO]

@AndriyKunitsyn2025 · in “Europe is locking itself in to US LNG”

The wonders of propaganda make it so that "Ukrainians bombed it" is given as an irrefutable fact, and not something that needs a lot of evidence. Nobody remembers anymore that Pres. Biden himself said, “If Russia invades ... there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it.” [°] Nor that the very next day, a EU parliament member, and now Polish foreign minister Radosław Sikorski thanked the US for the sabotage [^]. Nor that the same day, a competing natural gas pipeline has opened, the Baltic Pipe [_]. None of this matters, because "Ukrainians bombed it". Because WaPo and WSJ said so. In a waterway that is heavily controlled by all kinds of NATO vessels. Where NATO had an exercise 3 months before that, called BALTOPS. Come on. [°] [VIDEO] [^] [LINK] [_] [LINK]

Things being a talking point doesn't mean they're untrue. The US is and was the only party that made any logical sense, to say nothing of also being one of only a handful of nations with the technical expertise to do so as well. The US was against the Nord Stream from the beginning because we felt it could deepen ties between Germany and Russia, unilaterally sanctioned companies involved in it, and of course Biden publicly alluded to threats of blowing it up: "If Russia invades ... then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it." "How will you do that, since the project is under Germany's control?" "We will, uh, I promise you, we will, uh, be able to do that *smirking*." [1] With it blown up we're able to make Europe completely dependent upon US gas sold at a high premium. Well, at least that was probably the goal. Technically the attack failed and at least one of the pipelines was/is still viable, but the US probably was hedging their bets because there was no way to anticipate exactly how enthusiastic Europe would be about setting aside their own self interests for the sake of US geopolitics. It also helps ensure less chance of a reconciliation between Russia and Europe which is probably seen as a reasonable way of weakening both. Reading "Project for the New American Century" [2] by the typical names that show in basically every US presidency, Democrat and Republican alike, is crucial to understanding US geopolitics.
