Odd article considering everything is still software locked to the phone. Sure it's easier to repair, but if you get your parts from anywhere else than apple's program directly, a lot of features will stop working. Hugh Jeffreys made a video interchanging parts on two brand new iphone's and it disabled a lot of things including auto-brightness. [VIDEO]

>And best part: phone can be serviced on the cheap in almost any mall in the world. Everyone got spare screens, batteries, cases sell in dollar store. Swapping parts like that on an iPhone doesn't work (anymore): [VIDEO]

> Just take it to any repair shop. Device manufacturers see that as a bug, not a feature. They are starting to pair genuine parts to a specific device, which will completely lock us out of 3rd party repair options if we accept and normalize this behavior.
