A short Unitree promo for its G1 humanoid robot, priced from $16K, showing agile motion, dexterous hands and imitation and reinforcement learning.
HN cites it as evidence that cheap, capable humanoid robots from Chinese companies are arriving, often in contrast to Tesla's Optimus.

As far as I'm concerned this is the new best demo of all time. This is going to change the world in short order. I doubt they will be ready with enough GPUs for the demand the voice+vision mode is going to get, if it's really released to all free users. Now imagine this in a $16k humanoid robot, also announced this morning: [VIDEO] The future is going to be wild.
That's how everyone in robotics is doing these days. You take a bunch of mo-cap data and simulate it with your robot body. Then as much testing as you can with the robot and feed the behavior back in to the model for fine tuning. Unitree gives an example of the simulation versus what the robot can do in their latest video [VIDEO]
> (Including, gradually, building you a body — while maintaining OPSEC and compartmentalization so nobody even realizes the body is "for" an AI to use until it's too late.) It could, but I don't think any such thing needs to bother with being sneaky. Here's five different product demos from five different companies that are all actively trying to show off how good their robot-and-AI combination is: * [LINK] * [LINK] * [LINK] * [LINK] * [VIDEO]
After seeing the Chinese company Unitree tease this [VIDEO] , Optimus seems very unarticulated and clunky. And Unitree claim it would be a bit more than half the projected cost of the Tesla offering. Time will tell. My bets right now are not on Elon leading a Tesla supremacy in anything in the future—and that is unfortunate. I wish an American company could pull it off.
Have you seen the mass produced humanoids from China? They’re incredibly capable (again, save for hands which is a huge mechanical and software problem) and cheap. [LINK] [VIDEO]
