Nerdwriter1 shows how rearranging the scenes of the film Passengers, so the audience shares the female lead's confusion, would change the movie. It draws on discussion of the original script.
HN uses it to illustrate how simply reordering scenes can transform a story.

A good example of the rearranging is from Nerdwriters YouTube [VIDEO] Just a minor change in order of the same scenes completely changed a movie.
The movie could have been great if it was oriented around the female passenger waking up and not knowing what had already happened before instead of the audience knowing everything linearly [VIDEO]
Yeah but it wouldn't have been tempered by growing attached to Pratt's character and we would get to experience the same feeling of confusion as JLaw's character. NerdWriter on youtube has a good video on how the change would look, does a better job of selling it than I ever could: [VIDEO]
It would be interesting to watch an edit played in chronological order. A similar response was made to Passengers[1], where if it is NOT made chronologically, the director could have an opportunity to push the theme entirely close to a horror genre. 1. [VIDEO]
