A three-minute scene from season 2, episode 4 of Silicon Valley in which Jared is excited after the company hires a woman engineer. It satirizes tokenism in tech hiring.
HN commenters bring it up as a joke or shorthand in threads about diversity hiring and women in tech.

Has anyone seen the scene from SV where Jared is excited after they hired a woman engineer? And Jared expects her to be pals with Monica because both are female? I feel some of us men behave that way. :( link to clip: [VIDEO]
Yes. There is a bonus to being a woman in this situation, all other things being equal. Silicon Valley did a good bit on this [VIDEO] It's funny because it's true.
This SV clip says it for me. In the words of Guilfoyle "... we should hire the best person for the job. Period." [1] [1] [VIDEO]
All the talk about "diversity" in tech companies always reminds me of this Silicon Valley scene - [VIDEO] . Still the perfect representation of the entire effort.
