SpaceX's official footage of the CRS-6 Falcon 9 first stage landing attempt, in high resolution and slow motion. It shows the descent and touchdown on the drone ship.
HN uses it as a reference clip for examining landing behavior such as engine gimballing, and comparing against failed early landings.

When it comes in for a landing, SpaceX seems to be using the engine gimballing a lot. The disadvantage of not being able to hover is that you don't get a second chance if things aren't looking good. [VIDEO]
>It's always been the dodgiest landings that "accidentally" lose video coverage for the longest. Maybe you haven't seen some of the earlier ones that had RUD. Take this[1] one for instance from the SpaceX channel. Looks like they stopped using helicopters to stream the landing. Makes sense, because once you have all the kinks worked out, you no longer need redundant instrumentation. [1] [VIDEO] Edit: Adding a successful one[2]. See how the rocket comes in, pointing away from the barge and then straightens up. [2] [LINK]
