A 'leaked' Microsoft video shown at its 2011 MGX conference that mocks Google's Gmail and Apps to promote Office 365. It attacks Google over email scanning and privacy.
HN mostly cites it ironically, as evidence of Microsoft's earlier privacy marketing against Google that sits awkwardly with its later telemetry.

It's terribly ironic, considering the video they "leaked" a couple years ago lambasting Gmail for reading your email. [VIDEO]
Microsoft was there in ~2011-2014. Check these out [VIDEO] [LINK] From Scroogled to "telemetry" collecting user keyboard input in 4 years.
Microsoft is really shooting themselves in the foot with their terrible approach to privacy ever since Win10. Given that they earn money by selling actual products, they could stand right next to Apple as a defender of privacy if they wanted to (unlike Google, which has a business model which depends on data collection)... but they choose not to. It's not so long ago, in 2011, they had this video, targeting Google's privacy problems: [VIDEO] Now they're no better than Google. What happened?
See news articles about it from the time, and a petition telling Google to stop: [LINK] [LINK] And a Microsoft ad criticizing Google for it: [VIDEO]
